Changelog
What's new in Kalshi MCP.
Everything shipped, newest first — the work behind a research analyst for your own Kalshi account.
39,000+ tool calls served since launch
September 2026
Twice the deep research on the Free tier
The Free tier now allows 10 deep research calls a day instead of 5, within the same 20 daily tool calls. Searching events by sport counts as research, so a single afternoon of exploring a slate no longer runs out halfway. Everything else about the tier is unchanged: no card, no Kalshi account, and the allotment still resets at midnight UTC.
Connect ChatGPT the same way as Claude
Paste the connection URL into a ChatGPT app, sign in, and you're connected — no OAuth settings to change. Apps you set up earlier keep working as they are.
Cancels and size reductions now carry the market
Kalshi's API now routes orders across exchange shards, and a cancel or size reduction has to reach the shard that holds the order. cancel_order and decrease_order now accept the order's market ticker and hand it to Kalshi so the request lands on the right shard. Pass it whenever you have it — without it, the request goes where it always has.
August 2026
Exchange announcements withdrawn
Kalshi retired the exchange-announcements feed on their side, with nothing to replace it. The tool that read it has been withdrawn rather than left to fail, so the 50 tools your AI can see are all tools it can actually run. Everything else on the exchange — status, schedule, and fee changes — is unaffected.
A free tier — 20 public market-data calls a day, no card
Sign in and your AI can research live Kalshi markets immediately: search, prices, orderbooks, charts, and deep research within a daily allotment that resets at midnight UTC. Connecting your Kalshi account for portfolio and trading remains part of the paid plans — Basic still starts with a 7-day free trial.
See your plan and remaining usage in-chat
A new show_usage tool renders your plan, each quota meter's used and remaining calls, and when each limit resets — as an interactive card in clients that support MCP Apps, and as plain data everywhere else. It never counts against your quota, so it keeps working even when a limit has been reached.
Archived positions are now searchable
Your AI can now retrieve the complete set of settled positions after Kalshi moves them out of the live portfolio feed, filter by market or event, and walk the full archived timeline with no product-size truncation.
July 2026
Settlement-rules audits now run in ChatGPT
The pre-trade settlement audit — what exactly resolves YES, the payout criterion, the settlement source and its timing risk, and the ambiguities worth checking — is now a plain tool call. Clients that support tools but not guided workflows, ChatGPT among them, can run the same structured audit that Claude and Cursor already could.
Version 1.0, and no tools you can't actually use
The server now reports itself as version 1.0. Two realtime data tools that no plan could call have been withdrawn from the tool list until that capability ships — so every tool your AI can see is one it can run.
Every tool now declares whether it can change anything
Every tool your AI can call is now labelled read-only or a write, so your client can tell the difference between looking something up and placing an order — and ask you before the ones that move money.
V2 order placement + stronger account isolation
Order placement moved to Kalshi's V2 order endpoint, and per-user isolation was hardened — every account talks to Kalshi through its own dedicated client, never a shared one.
Cost basis and break-even on every position
The portfolio view now joins your positions with fills and fees — cost basis, break-even price, and current mark on every position, both in the data your AI reads and in the in-chat portfolio app.
Public launch
Sign-up opened to everyone, with Terms and Privacy live and support email routing to a human.
June 2026
ChatGPT connector support
Kalshi MCP now connects from ChatGPT as a custom connector.
Realized-gains export (Pro and up)
Export your realized gains as a CSV for tax season — computed from your own settlement history, generated in-chat or downloaded from the dashboard. Informational, not tax advice.
Settlement fine print, read before you trade
Market research got grounded in the fine print — your analyst reads a market's settlement terms, sources, and edge cases before you trade, so the position you take is on the market as written.
Plans and metered billing
Subscription plans with monthly tool-call allotments went live. The entry tier is hard-capped — when you hit the cap it simply stops, so there are never surprise bills.

Interactive market charts, in-chat
The first in-chat market charts — your AI renders an interactive chart of any market or event right inside the conversation.
